Inclusive Sports opportunities
At Yawarra Community School, we provide inclusive sporting opportunities where every student can explore new activities, build skills, grow in confidence, and develop friendships.
Creative and Performing Arts
Each year, Yawarra students proudly showcase their creativity through participation in Eisteddfods, the Dubbo Show, and school-based activities such as signing choir and percussion.
Wiradjuri Language and Culture
Students at Yawarra Community School participate in regular Wiradjuri language lessons, building their understanding and appreciation of local culture. They also celebrate culture through creative expressions in art, music, and literacy, embedding Aboriginal perspectives across their learning.
Excursions and Incursions
Students at Yawarra have the opportunity to take part in a variety of engaging excursions and incursions each year, offering experiences that are both fun and educational.
Community Access
Each class participates in weekly Community access activities. These outings give our students valuable opportunities to build life skills in real-world settings. From shopping and using money to practicing communication, turn-taking, and independence, these experiences help students grow in confidence while connecting with their local community
