Westmead Feelings Program

At Yawarra Community School, we acknowledge the importance of emotional regulation and implement the Westmead Feelings Program to support students in recognising and managing their emotions.

What is the Westmead Feelings Program?

The program focuses on helping children understand and manage their emotions, develop empathy, and improve social interactions. Through engaging lessons, visual supports, and practical activities, the Westmead Feelings Program teaches emotional literacy and problem-solving skills in a supportive and structured manner, empowering children to navigate social situations and enhance their overall wellbeing.

The program is was developed by the Westmead Children's Hospital network and focuses on supporting students with intellectual disabilities and those on the autism spectrum.
